The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a five-day heavy rainfall alert for the Konkan regionstarting from 17th August 2025. Districts including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurgare expected to witness moderate to very heavy rainfall during this period.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas prone to flooding and waterlogging. People are advised to follow official updates from @RMC_Mumbai and @SDMAMaharashtra, and to regularly check IMD’s nowcast for the latest 3–4 hour forecasts.
Disaster management teams are on alert in Mumbai, Thane, and other Konkan districts, with instructions to monitor low-lying and flood-prone areas.
