Deputy CM Shinde urges builders to help develop Thane’s lakes and green spaces

Top 5 Public Parks to Visit in Thane

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday urged real estate developers and construction firms to take an active role in further enhancing Thane’s lakes and green spaces. In his address, Shinde highlighted the remarkable transformation the city has undergone, noting the increased green cover and a significant reduction in pollution levels.

“The city has transformed and now boasts an abundance of greenery, which has helped reduce pollution considerably. Landmarks such as the Yeoor Hills, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and several lakes are key to keeping Thane beautiful. However, there’s still a need to do more, especially in the area of tree plantation. Builders and developers must partner with the Thane Municipal Corporation to adopt and develop parks, islands, and public utilities around these lakes,” Shinde said.

In addition to the focus on environmental sustainability, State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced that the government is implementing measures aimed at alleviating the city’s traffic challenges. This dual approach reflects a broader commitment to making Thane not only greener but also more livable for its residents.

The call to action by the Deputy CM underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between the government and the private sector in creating a sustainable urban environment. As Thane continues to evolve, such initiatives are expected to play a pivotal role in preserving and enhancing the city’s natural beauty for future generations.
